It made sleep a constant, beautiful thing! I am sure this blanket would be a great addition to my swaddle blanket collection for a possible baby #2! Check it out maybe you might win it!

Good-Bye Long Weekend-Hello Random Rambles
We had big plans for the weekend, shopping, football, baseball bike rides and walks but unfortunately on:
Friday night our little monkey didn't sleep so soundly but handled it like a trooper. Every time he stirred I just knew something was wrong. I just waited to see if it was teething, a tummy bug or a cold. Around 7:30 Saturday I walked into his room, he was smiling ear to ear happy like normal. When I got closer I noticed one thing that wasn't normal, he had snot rolling out of his nose. Poor guy! Right then and there I knew our weekend plans would need to be modified. We enjoyed some snuggle time, breakfast and a quick shower. I needed to make a quick trip to Colorado and we decided to keep with the plan. We were hoping to make it to the first football game of the season but with a sick boy we decided to cross that one off.
Sunday was a day at home, cuddling, napping and attempting to get food and liquids in the monkey. He is so stuffed up it wasn't easy. We did get out for some fresh air.
Today was another day at home resting. It was windy and cold outside so we thought it best to stay cozy at home. We had to cross the baseball game off the list.
Nathan has been sleeping through the night with an occasional wake up but puts himself back down within 5 minutes. He really is a good sick baby. It's just hard on my heart. I hate sucking boogers. He is so stuffy but he needs it, he hates it but he needs it. He can't drink well because he is stuffy and it breaks my heart because you know he wants it. He is a little more sensitive which is hard to handle at times. The poor little guy handles it well but I could probably handle better at times. It really takes a lot out of a parent when your child is sick. I know I am complaining and I know I am lucky that it is a simple cold but sometimes I just need to get it all out.
I know that I am truly blessed and I am thankful for my sweet little family.
Tomorrow is the monkeys 15 month doctors appointment. I am very curious to know how much he weighs and how much he had grown. Exciting stuff! I love watching him grow. He amazes me each and everyday with how much he is growing and learning. I am one lucky momma!

My birthday week finally
Wednesday:Nathan and I played, went grocery shopping and enjoyed our Journey Group at our home.
Thursday: We had to make a trip to the Pediatric Urologist in Colorado. It wasn't a fun appointment, we didn't get the news we were hoping for. We tried to make the best of the trip and decided to go to The Melting Pot for dinner. It was just what I needed. Nathan was wonderful and we enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner. I also was able to shop at the Coach Outlet and Old Navy. I love my new handbag, my new pair of jeans and my new cardigan.

My 29th Birthday was filled with fun, love, JOY and sun! I am so lucky to have a family that values me as a mom, wife, daughter and sister. I had a blessed week.
Top Two Tuesday
Top Two Biggest Indulgences....
Pedicures! I love pretty feet! i like to get pedicures monthly. They just make me happy! It is a time that I can have some time for me. It is so nice to sit and be pampered while reading a magazine.
Shoes! What girl doesn't love shoes!? I am currently looking for new shoes for the fall. I am not sure what I want, which makes it more difficult. If I don't go shopping with an idea of what I want I end up loving everything. When I worked I loved fun shoes that gave me some height. Now that I stay home with my son I am more willing to try on fun comfy shoes. I'm really not that picky, I just love shoes!

I have stumbled across This Kind of Love and decided to join in the Wednesday fun!
I am loving....that my dad took Nathan to the splash pad this afternoon. Nathan loves hanging out with his grandpa and grandpa loves hanging out with Nathan. It also gave me some mommy time which is always appreciated.
I am loving....that it is my birthday week! I know a week is a little excessive but hey you only live once, right?
I am loving....that Brandon doesn't have to work this weekend, hooray!
I am loving....my new purse.
I am loving.......What I am loving Wednesday!
My birthday week thus far
Brandon always teases me that I celebrate my birthday for a whole weekend. So I decided why not the whole week?
I am always so impressed with how good Nathan is when his schedule is turned up side down. He took one nap and didn't get to bed until 9:00 and he was a wonderful little monkey.
Tuesday: Nathan and I met up with our friends Stephanie and Nash at the splash pad. I was blessed by them with a gifts from Ecuador, a beautiful scarf and bracelet. For dinner my in-laws took us out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Chelos. Shaunna and Chad gave me a fondue pot and some fabulous jewelery. My in-laws have given me the option of picking out my own gift.
I am one lucky girl!

The Q's.
1. What kind of athlete has the hottest body?
Well my husband was a basketball player and swimmer in high school and I thought his body was/is THE hottest.
2. Are you a planner or a procrastinator?
I like to plan things out but I have become more of a procrastinator lately. Now that I stay at home I seem to be a little more flexible with my to do list.
3. Diet or regular (soda)?
I prefer regular but I try not to drink pop.
4. What's your one "must have" for Fall?
Cute headbands and a few cardigans with floral/lace embellishments

Five Question Friday
1. Have you ever visited another country?
I have been to Mexico on a missions trip when I was 13. It was a life changing experience. I loved every minute. I have also been to Mexico on family trips as well.
2. Where is the strangest place you have ever been?
In a dark elevator with strangers. When I was in college people thought it was funny to take out the lights in the elevators (I unfortunately lived on the 11th floor) and on weekends it would take the staff awhile to replace them. I guess it isn't really strange, but rather awkward.
3. What is your favorite season?
I love fall! I enjoy it when the nights are alittle chilly and in the morning you have to snuggle up in your blankets because you left the window open. I love jumping in leaves. I am very excited to show Nathan how fun it can. Being a teacher fall meant a new batch of students that always put butterflies in my stomach but I loved getting to knew group of amazing kids.
4. What one song will always cheer you up?
The first song my husband and I danced to as a married couple, when you say nothing at all by Alison Krauss. Ahhhhh.......
5. What Disney character do you resemble most?
I guess Piglet, Piglet generally has a timid disposition, he often conquers his fears and seems to want to be brave.Which kind of sums me up. People usually underestimate me heck sometimes I underestimate myself but I am usually always willing to try.

I thought I would add a few fabulously fun Friday photos!
Happy Friday All!
fill in the blank friday
The other day I was reading a few blogs and came across The Little Things We Do. On Fridays Lauren posts some questions and then we fill in the blank! Sounds like fun! This is my first fill in the blank Friday, lets see how it goes.
1. Birthdays are: A time to celebrate life and be a little silly!
2. My favorite birthday memory was : when my parents took me to ALCO and pick out my birthday present. I had my eye on a pink tape player that had a strap so it could be transported ANYWHERE! It was so cool. I thought I was pretty cool because I had it. Another cool feature was that it would record my voice. I made a million tapes with random singings and recordings. I loved that thing. I am pretty sure it is being stored in one of many boxes in my parents basement. Ah birthdays!
3. A birthday tradition I (or my family) has is: The birthday boy/girl gets to pick what's for dinner. Now that I have my own little family we are slowly coming up with our own traditions. I purchased a plate that says"you are special" and that will be used for birthdays ( and days when my family needs to feel extra special.)
4. If I had to choose one birthday meal to eat for the rest of my birthdays hence forward, I would choose : The Melting Pot. My husband took me there last year for my birthday and it was perfect. I could do that every year from here on out!
5. My birthday is on August 21st, it's right around the corner.
6. If I could take a birthday trip I would go: Puerto Rico. We had thought about going there for a while and I have reached it and it sounds beautiful.
7. The best gift I've ever received for my birthday was : A purse that my husband picked out. The purse was fabulous but the way he gave it to me was fun and memorable. He hid it in the house and I had to go search the house for it.
I thought I would add some birthday photos:
My handsome son on his 1st birthday! |
His 1st time eating sweets. |
Nathan had a a birthday weekend, this is his 2nd taste of sweets |
His 1st birthday cake! I am so happy with the way it turned out. |
